I go on ebay to get things sometimes, but I see a lot of things saying sivler plated , sterling silver and other things what is the real type of silver I should be looking for ?
People have already answered this but you should be looking for sterling silver. It will be marked with "929" (from the quantity of silver per 1000).
Silver plated will be cheaper to buy however it is an inferior metal coated with a layer of silver - which will wear off after time to leave the inferior metal to showing through.
Your best off buying sterling silver, however I would be wary about buying jewellery on-line owing to it authenticity. Jewellers' shops would be a wiser choice and you can see the jewellery first hand.
