I'd really like to get an industrial cartilage piercing, and obviously I have a few questions. I know its not recommended to get two CBRs (two separate piercings) and then insert the bar later, but according to Wikipedia (not a very reliable source, I know, but I use it anyway) they can use a flexible plastic bar first and then insert the metal bar in a few weeks. Does anyone know if this is true or a good idea? If not, what are other ways to make an industrial piercing less painful (both long term and at the initial piercing)?
Also, where are good places to get an industrial? I got my cartilage done at Claire's (and they use a gun, which is bad, now I know), but I know they wont do industrial. Does anyone have a good place in Essex or Morris County, NJ (or somewhere around that area) that you know from firsthand experience is sanitary, reliable, and overall recommendable?

okay, i've never done the industrial piercing, so i don't know much about it, but for i went with my mom, and my two cousins to get all theirs done.
they went to a tattoo parlor and got it done, and all three of them said it hurt like crazy!
i'm not really sure about the whole plastic bar thing because, my mom took her earring out a couple weeks later to change bars, and by the time she was ready to put the new bar in, one of the holes had already closed!
i recommend, taking all of your questions to the tattoo parlor of your choice and asking them before you get the piercing.
