I have 2 very large rocks. one has a yellow brown looking crystals all on the outside and possibly on the inside, and the other is deep deep Purple.. If i had to guess the one with yellow brown crystals probably weighs 150 lb and the one with purple 30-40lb. Just wondering what direction i should go in...

The yellow brown one could also be corundum, which is quite a bit harder than quart and worth a bit more money. Quarts is a 7 on the moe's hardness scale. Corundum is a 9.
